Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

I have a Lenovo ThinkPad running on a Linux system. I just went to use my computer and it says that my computer is disconnected from my wireless… I pressed Fn and F5 and nothing happened… How can I turn my Wi-Fi back on?

Hello and welcome to the forum
First, please read the information here. The more information we have, the better we can help you.
What is the exact model number of your Thinkpad? What is the distribution and version of Linux you're using? Also, was your wireless working before (with your current copy of Linux?)
I believe my model # is T410s
Release Linux mint 16 "petra"
Edition cinnamon 32 bit
I was on the couch using my laptop. We have a new
puppy and he jumped up and knocked it off my lap.
I picked it up and my Wi-Fi connection was lost

Hi...
Thank you for providing these details. Take a look at the video here and see if that helps. Note the switch on the right hand side at the front. See if that has been switched off. Then check your BIOS as mentioned in the video. If there is no switch and/or if this does not work for some reason, please post back with the necessary details, along with the results of this command....
thanks for all your help. Flicked the switch and I'm
Good to go!
Hi...
