fluxbox monitor config, keep from blanking

I am trying to keep the monitor from going blank or standby, which it does so after 10-15 minutes.
xorg.conf doesn't have : blanktime, off time, or any similar options already set.
I have also tried xset -dpms which doesn't prevent it from turning off.
I'm running slackware 13.

And what about a DPMS in the monitor section? It's certainly NOT
fluxbox blanking your screen; it's X.

Bear in mind that the defaults for ALL of the relevant options
are ON if there's no entry in the xorg.conf file.
