Floppy Booting without Lilo or Grub MBR

Hey!

I recently installed Fedora Linux (Kernel 2.6.9-1.667) along side of XP. I decided not to use a bootloader (Lilo or Grub) as I knew there was a way to boot into Fedora only if I put a boot floppy when the computer boots up and boot Windows normally if there isn't a floppy in the drive.

Is there any way to do this, as mkbootdisk does not seem to work...

Thanks!

Actually, if you make a boot disk, it'll just run GRUB/LILO from the bootdisk, so it would be better to just install GRUB/LILO on the hd's mbr. It can still boot Windows, you know.

You're right, I guess I'll do that..

Only thing is... How do I install Lilo (or Grub?) on the MBR now? I can't boot into my Fedora Core 3 installation since the computer boots directly into Windows.

Thanks!

Not wishing to deflect kudos from a fellow Aussie, I'd be pretty sure you could whack your FC CD in and boot from that.
Rescue mode would give you the option to recover/re-install grub/lilo.
Redhat also used to find Windoze and put a selection in the boot menu for you.

Can't imagine it any easier than that.
