Flooded /var/log/messages

I'm having a problem. I recently set up a SNMP server so I would be able to monitor my router traffic with webalizer. But now the messages log is always being filled up. Is there a way to prevent snmp from logging into /var/log/messages or any other application for that matter?

Thanks as always,

comment out the entries in /etc/syslog.conf or

check out the snmpd start script.....

in here you should find an options variable ... stick "-Le" here to send the stuff to std error

do a :

# man snmpcmd
for more info on logging options

Thanks for the response. I ended up doing what you said, I placed snmp.none; into
/etc/syslogd.conf. This seems to be working at the moment.
