Ok folks.. I have been sold Mandrake on the pre-text that it is better than Windoes 9x Win ME 2K an yes... XP
However I was also told that if i really didn't want to lose XP altogether I could run it
through a window within Amndrake.

Ideal thinks I but... how on earth do I do it ?

All suggestions ( clean ones ) will be gratefully received.... I am so new to this I can still smell the fresh paint

Linux IS better than Windo$e - but that's coming from a Linux user! ;)
There are various emulators/virtual machine software (of varying success and cost) that will let you run Windo$e within Linux.

but....if you're as new to Linux as you say, I'd suggest that you either dual-boot or experiment (if you've got an old spare non-critical machine) before going down that route.

If you dual-boot, check for XP issues on this and other Linux forums - XP is a bit more 'sniffy' about dual booting than older Windo$e versions and some searches may save you time and hassle.

You can always get Vmware, (lots of $$$ around 150 i beleive) and run Windows within Linux, i tried it with a trial VMware version and it works almost perfect, with some tweaking you can probably make it work perfect, there are even people that claim that windows ran faster within a Linux then by itself, but i somehow doubt that...
Anywayz VMware is a good choice if you have $$$ and if you really need to have windows within linux.
When i started with Linux i thought the same, that i will need windows within Linux, but in only two weeks i totally abandoned windows, so i suggest you give Linux more time before investing in VMware..
