Flashing menu
I think this may be a quesiton more specific to KDE, but just to let you know, I'm using SuSE 9.2 Pro...
My question is, is it possible to make an item on my taskbar flash ? For example, a known feature on the windows taskbar is that an item on the taskbar will flash when something happens within that program, such as gaim flashing when a new IM is recieved. Is it posisble to configure KDE to do this when I recieve an IM? The reason I ask is because I don't like using the sounds in Gaim to notify me of a new IM. When sounds are off, I can't tell if I get a new IM unless I have that window showing somewhere on the desktop. If this isn't possible, is there an alternative I can use to make me visually aware that I received a new IM in a minimized window ? Thanks in advance. |
hehe, doesn't it flash? I don't remember, but I think my GAIM flashed, when I received new messages. See the Configuration for details. It can be enabled somewhere I think. I personaly use Kopete and it reminds you with a nice little cloud, that says what new message you received.
