Unhappy "flash" problems

Hello to all.
I use linux for some months , and i have a question..
i use ubuntu 8.10 , and i installed flash player 10.
some flash games - like playfish games on facebook - are very slow and some times for miliseconds the game freezes.
Can anyone help me here ?
i have mozilla firefox 3.0.6, and my hardware is more than good.
512MB graphic card nvidia , AMD phenom 9950 , 2048MB DDR2 1066Mzh.
I hope someone "drop" any ideas..

I had problems with the Ubuntu flash package too, and when I replaced it with the package from Adobe's web site the problems completely disappeared. It seems like the packages are not the same for some reason, and the one from Adobe's site works much better. I don't know if it will help with flash games but it is worth a try.

Go to adobe.com and get their flash plugin. Get the .tar.gz package and not the .deb package. Extract it somewhere - and just copy the libflashplayer.so file to Mozilla's plugin directory (/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins). No need to run the installer that came with the .tar.gz package and no need to uninstall Ubuntu's package before.
