First time install on secondary HD

I'm new to Linux and am planning to dual boot Windows XP and Mandrake Linux. Windows is already installed on a NTFS partition on my primary 40GB HD. I am adding a new 80GB HD as slave and plan to install to that. I am going to partition it as follows:

19.5GB ext3 root partition
0.5GB swap
20GB ext3 /home partition
40GB FAT32 shared partition

I understand that the Mandrake installer will setup the GRUB bootloader to the MBR on the primary HD but I've heard it has trouble with Windows XP in this setup. Is there anything that I should do to make this work?

Your help is most appreciated.

Regards,
Scott

Not sure what problems but I have WinXP Pro on my primary HD with the Grub bootloader installed on the MBR with no problems.

I have the following booting from the Grub bootloader on the MBR:

hdb WinXP Pro & Mandrake 9.2
hdc Fedrora Core 1 & FreeBSD 5.1-RELEASE
hdd SuSE 9.0

I'd heard stories of GRUB hanging when Linux was selected but loading XP fine. Where does GRUB store the boot information?

I seen this page but I'm confused as to why it says that there are issues:

OK, I found some info in the Mandrake Linux Archieves which confirm that this works with no trouble.
