Hi all
i just started to deal with linux, i hav& i don't know how to start with, so here 2 questions that i need a help with :
1.how i can find a most common feature in a coloumn and count the lines that have this feature??
2.how i c count a a distance between 2 neighbour coloums and find the largest one?

the assignment is in biology so the coloums refer to data that related to DNA sequences !!
