I'm trying to set up my first ftp server using proFTPd.
I'm using the FC3 distro and following the instructions from the following link

I try and put the proftpd tarball into the /usr/src directory as stated in the instructions but the folder has a big red X in it, even though the prior steps change the permissions for me.
The error messages claims i don't have proper permissions.
I've typed everything just as the directions state but it doesn't seem to be working.
Am I missing something? Is there more information i could provide to help me get assitance? Is there some detail missing in the instructions?

i didnt check the link but, can u move the folder as root? try and move it from a command line as root/'su'.

i think i'm just too much of a noob right now and just in way over my head.

i should probably learn the simpler commands before i get this ftp running.
