First boot ubuntu(7.04), screen out of sync
 

Hi people,

my Pc is:

MB: Asus p5n32 - SLI premium wifi
ram: 1.5gb
HD: IDE 120gb
SATA 320 gb
video: Nvidia 6600 256mb
cpu: Pentium D 2.8ghz
VGA: 1.- LCD AOC19" wide 1400x900
2.- Analog BTC 1256x1256

I've recently installed Ubuntu 7.04 feisty fawn, when i booted from the cd i had to manually adjust VGA resolution to 1200X712 or something like that, to get ubuntu working, then i installed ubuntu on my SATA drive, after reboot i could see ubuntu loading, and then, both monitors just went black, my LCD showed little glitches, and the analog monitor said "H.V. Out of Range", after a few seconds i heard the sound of ubuntu's login screen, i could type ctrl + alt + F1, and i could get to command prompt, but that's it.. i've made my research, and i think there is a problem with the xorg configuration or something like that. and somewhere over ubuntu forums, i heard it could be related with the Horizontal refresh, my LCD is 50H 50V. but i couldnt get it to work.

Any ideas?.

It is a problem with your Xorg.conf. I dunno how Ubuntu auto-configures X, but you might need to google for a tutorial on how to manually edit your config file to supply it the correct values for H.sync and V.sync for both your monitors. (You can usually find these specs on the manufacturer's website or in the manual for your monitor.) Once that's fixed you should have no problems at all.

I've found a link that explains how to config xorg.conf, i'll try to fix it with it, and i'll post what happened.
