firmware upgrade

Hi,

I need to do firmware upgrade and my embedded system running on linux (2.6.30) does have networking support. Is there any good documentation related to this, so that I can choose optimal solution.

Thanks

There could be, but since you don't say anything about what hardware you've got, how can we suggest where to get the documentation on upgrading it?

His tone was a little abrupt, but this applies to you...

mine is a custom pxa255 based embedded platform. I am running linux 2.6.11.

i like to know, various options available to do remote upgrade of my system. As network is running in the embedded platform, it should be possible.

Thanks

If it's a custom platform, running a custom version of Linux, not sure if anyone can help you with it...there's nothing 'standard' about it, that we would know about. Whoever put the system together and got it running, is your best resource.

Also, as a rule, you can't upgrade the BIOS of a system, while it's running...you usually have to boot from another media, which does the upgrade.
