Firewall Question

I have problems with reaplayer playing content off the net, i think the problem is related to no open ports available for incoming comms. So i opened a port up on my router for it to use, but the firewall is still blocking all ports.

I have read the iptables section of the reference guide, and looked at the tcp help guides, and am completely at a loss at how to open a udp port up.

My systems is running redhat 9.

How do i open up ports?

add something like this to your iptables:
iptables -A INPUT -p udp --dport 7070 -j ACCEPT

p.s., i don't know if that is the right port, but it will be something along those lines.

the port I opened was 27910, because i also run a game server from time to time, and it seemed a better idea to reuse the same port.
