Firewall problem

Respected Members,

I have FC6 in my dual boot laptop. Recently I changed my Firewall options (from defaults to another, I forgot). Now I could not log in. It takes time to boot, and lots of time latter, it takes my password but faild to give any gnome menu. I want to change to my original setting. How can I change ??
Another problem : during booting I have seen "FATAL: Module acpi-cpufreq not found". What is the problem, will the honourable members resolve my problems please ?

you have raised a few issues so

1) are you trying to login into the laptop the laptop... the firewall has nothing to do with it...but if remote login you may need to re-establish defaults and look more carefully and what you wish to block or allow?

2) as you mention gnome...I think you do mean local login. So what do you see please? Do you get just a command prompt or another window manager?

3) laptops really do need good powermanagement. You may like to look at your bios first and make sure all powermangements are enabled....and as your distro is trying to use its over-rides thru you have a generic kernel or a laptop one?

altho its old link you can get an idea of some savings here

if battery and processor cause battery run down too quickly...stay away from KDE and Gnome and look for a minimal window manager.

better still choose a distro that is minimal designed by default such as puppy?

good luck
