Can you explain exactly how you installed FFx3 on your system? What steps did you take? What folder did you install it in?
cheers, jdk |
hi jdkaye
i read on a forum to install from a terminal...and i now also see that ff3 is in package manager....as to where it installed i cant even find out that...thats about all i can give you ....hope this helps thankx |
In a terminal type
Code:
which firefox cheers, jdk |
hi jdkaye
done what you said and this came up /usr/bin/firefox ....hope this helps thanks again |
This is progress. Now post the results of
Code:
ls -l /usr/bin/firefox And last, but not least, do you have a folder called /home/{your user name}/.mozilla/firefox? This is where your configuration data should go. Cheers and courage, jdk |

hi john vv
done as you said and came back with this acs-firefox-fonts-0.1-20080603.fc8.acer firefox-3.0.9-1.fc8.remi thanks |
You're making progress!
Go to the menu item Edit->Preferences and look in the "Main" tab. That's where you configure your home page. What does it say? If it's not what you want then you should change it accordingly. Make sure you have the proper folder for your configuration which should be: /home/{your user name}/.mozilla/firefox Do you have that folder? cheers, jdk |
hi jdkaye
tried to change homepage etc.. and it wouldnt let me.....can you help with where i will look as i can find a few firefox folders that dont mean very much thanks |
well not all of the OLD fedora 8 rpm's will work on Limpus Light .They are not 100% binary compatible.
i would uninstall it ( from add and remove programs menu ) and install the prebuilt from the firefox web site |
