Firefox on.........Windows, Linux, toaster?

Try a new firefox profile and see what's what...
Close firefox and then terminal>
Code:
firefox -ProfileManager
start firefox with new profile and see if the issue persists.

How was it installed? Version? Platform/architecture?

I have Windows7 HP. Yesterday while I was on FF a message came up saying I needed to update my outdated FireFox. I clicked on it to allow the update and today I can't get back on it. All I get is the message, 'couldn't load XPCOM'. I'm electronically challenged so I probably did something wrong. I'm going to try installing a different FF. BRB. thanks for trying to help me.
