Firefox using a lot of system resources

I was using firefox I opened a third tab and it jumped to using a whole lot more memory, according to the top command it was using around 65% to 70% of memory, i killed the program cause it was going slow, I opened up Konqueror, with a the same sites and a few more in tabs and it only used 35% to 40%, which seems wrong because usually Firefox can have way more then 3 tabs

when i leave firefox running straight for a couple of days it does tend to chew on my system's resources.. but i countered that by renicing it to 15, and all was well. But then i decided it would be easiest to just restart the browser anyway
