Firefox startup

My bad from a few days ago. I had asked about how to get Firefox going and wht proxy entrys are, urls, netmasks, hardware adressess, any entries that I have to get to get (and how to get them), Ididnt give distro. I have Fedora6 distro, but also have SUSE 10 that i can use. Any Help in trying to get on the internet and what I have to enter where, and how to get it would be appreciated. Thanks for everyones Patience with me. Sean

You have to tell us how do you plan on connection to the internet: LAN, Dial up, ADSL, WiFi?
In most cases you will not need a proxy for firefox to access the web.
