Firefox Install

Good day. I am having a problem with Firefox. I am currently running Suse 9.1 on a Compaq Presario 3000 laptop. I would like to use Firefox, Konqueror is nice, but I like Firefox better. I was able to install the program with no problems. I put it in /usr/lib/firefox, I had read a few recommendations for it to go their for multiple users. I can not seem to get Firefox to open. After reading a few things here & on the Internet I thought it might be a problem with permissions. I logged in as an SU & was able to open the program with no problems.

How do I get Firefox to work for a regular user? Any suggestions would help. I have no problems deleting the file & re-installing it, I've done that a few times already.

Thank you for any help you can provide.

You may also need to run it as a regular user first, after installing it as root. If you run it as root right off, some of the permissions may not be set correctly.

Thank you for the suggestions, but it didn't work. I installed it in /usr/local/firefox in SU mode. Firefox opened right after it finished installing. I still can not open it with a normal user. I looked at the permissions for the executable file.

User: root
Group: root

Advanced Permissions

User: Read, Write, Exec
Group: Read, Exec
Others: Read, Exec

Are these settings correct? Is there anything else I can try? Thank you again for all the help.
