Firefox download and install
 
Hi guys I am using suse linux desktop I have downloaded firefox 2.0.0.12...it downloads in .tar extention I than open my terminal and run the following as root

#cd /xxx/xxx/
#tar -xvf firefox-2.0.0.12.tar

it than create a firefox folder on my pc ...when i access it there is the normal firefox icon which i double click (hoping firefox opens)but i get a window RUN OR DISPLAY?
with 4 options Run IN TERMINAL DISPLAY CANCEL RUN


so i have to click on run for firefox to open ....i just need help i want to click on the icon and it must run firefox and not give me the window of choice please please YELP me

you should really stick to distro specific builds if you can - just install ff through yast and this will all be taken care of.

when you say install ff from yast do you mean the one from the CD/DVD or do you mean the one i downloaded if it is the one i downloaded please advise on how

you shouldn't ever need to download these sorts of packages yourself, the right things will be downloaded for you.

but it does not download it for me can you please please help on how suse can download it automatically for me

i'm not a suse user but you should install via yast like this... http://en.opensuse.org/Image:103-YaST-SM.jpg
