Firefox crashes when flash video played


Hi forum,

Recently my firefox 3.0 browser keeps crashing sometimes when I play flash media. I have googled this issue but there is no clear answer as such why it happens and whats the remedy. So here I am.

I ran firefox from terminal and here is the output

sometimes it is

Segmentation fault

and some other times

(firefox:10823): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_unref: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed
Segmentation fault

I had the same issue, where I could watch maybe 2 videos and then the third would crash the browser. I discovered that I had somehow wound up with both the Adobe Flash plugin and the mozilla-flash plugin. I guess that they were conflicting whenever Flash played. So see if they are both installed and then remove one - I chose to keep the Adobe version and ditch the *buntu one.
