Firebox browser window
HI,
Hopeing someone can help me. When I use the fire fox browser it consumes the whole monitor display (IE: Hides desktop panels) which means I cant see or do anything else. The browser window also does not allow resizing and or has no facility to minimize. Very frustrating having to quit the program every time I want to return to the desktop.? Can anyone help> I have tried different window display settings? |
which desktop manager are you using ? gnome or kde ?
Try Alt+Space X to maximise the window to fit your desktop. Also I think there is an option to always display the panels in gnome/kde. I do not know for sure as I don't use these. |

Edit: Nope. On second thought it doesn't sound like that. Sorry. If it was the F11 key issue you would see the browser's toolbar when you took the cursor to the upper edge of the screen, and that definitely has the minimize and restore functions on it. Does Alt+F8 allow you to resize the window with the arrow keys? |
Yes sound like the F11 key to me also.
EDIT:Snood If the F11 key is pressed it will cover all the tool bars making it almost impossible to anything else. |
I have a similar problem in on my system running Linux Mint. When I first start FF it fills the entire screen covering the task bar and there is no title bar or anyway to move or resize the window. But if I change FF to full screen mode and back (F11 or View>Full Screen) it returns correctly. I don't know why this is. I haven't found a permanent fix yet, it's mostly a nuisance and this is a simple workaround.

Having all of these choices can be wonderful, but it can also make things pretty complicated guys (like me) who are new to the environment. |
