Fire Fox browser for Fedora Core 8 settings too small.

I know that this might sound stupid, but how do I change the settings for my fire fox browser. The font is so small that it is unreadable (it is equivalent to holding the ctrl button and spinning your mouse wheel all the way). I have changed my resolution settings to an appropriate setting (1024x768 my monitor is rated for this and higher), but it doesn't seem to help. I have also changed my font size through fire fox and it doesn't help much either. To me it seem like a resolution problem because some pages display their table and a margin on the side. I used fire fox before on windows and this wasn't a problem. So thorough instructions would really help.

There are a number of things you can do:
- View > Text Size from the Firefox menu bar.
- adjust font and /or font size: Edit > Preferences > Content
- set a different system font and / or font size globally: System > prefs > Look and Feel > Appearance
- lower your resolution

None of those things work

Unfortunately, none of these things worked. Is there any thing else that would help?
