Finding the speed of the NIC

Hello,

I have a centos 5.2 that is running in the vmware ESXi host.

I like to confirm the NIC speed. I did a ifconfig -a and noticed txqueuelen:1000. Is that the nic speed?

Hi,

If centOS is guest in VMware ESX , it would be ideal to probe the ethernet interface from the host OS rather that from guest OS to know the speed. Coz the ethernet interface available to centos would be a virtual adapter provided by VMware.Am not sure whether tools like ethtool is available in VMware. Folks who are exposed to VMware plz comment..
