Finding installation Guide for RH 10
 

I am a newbie, indeed. Look in the dictionary under "newbie" and there is my picture. But I am determined to switch from Windows to Linux, and am going to just take it one step at a time. The first step is to install Linux on a spare machine. (Yes, I know that I have many fun days ahead!) I ordered Pink Tie 10 (same as Red Hat Linux 10) from CheapBytes. The price was right. But no installation guide. Any suggestions as to where to get one? Red Hat, maybe? ("Dear Sir: I ordered your distro from someone else because I am thrifty, but they did not send an installation guide.") Thanks for any suggestions. And I look forward to many, many more while getting up and running. Onward and upward!

Err....there is no "Redhat 10". I have never heard of Pink Tie Linux but your description sounds as if it is either a re-labeled Fedora release (Fedora Core being Redhat's free "community" release), or Redhat 9 with a couple of updates. There is a free distribution of the Redhat Enterprise series called Whitebox which also could be similar to this Pink Tie of yours.

Here is the installation guide for Redhat Linux 9. It should be similar (if not identical) to your install.

CheapBytes.com takes the Redhat distro and sells the CD's. But they go through and change the name "Redhat" to "Pink Tie". They also cannot distribute the installation manual. (They distribute a bunch of other Linux OS's -- not only RH). I think that the Redhat Linux 9 manual you pointed me to will probably do fine. Thanks.
