finding and running files

I am brand new to Linux first of all.

I installed FC3 on my Windoze machine.

O.K., here it is.

I bought a book (Wileys Red Hat Fedora Linux 3 Bible) and as I was reading through how to use the different functions and applications I came across a section that said that if I open the Application tab that there should be a tab on it for games. :study: Thing is, there are no tabs for games on my applications tab??

Could someone direct me on how to get them?? Did I not install them when I installed FC3 on my machine?? I know that if I had seen anything about games during the installation I would have installed them without even thinking about it.:D

I did a file search from the Actions tab and came up with a bunch of game like things but I can't seem to find specific names or anything else pertaining to games specifically. I even tried to download a game from the 'Net but I can't get it to work either. I downloaded riotball_demo but when I try to open it , it doesn't do anything. I don't know for sure what the deal is. The readme file says that it should work with FC3 but I get nothing.:(

Thanks in advance

You probably didn't select the "games package" if you did a custom install.Go to "Applications>System Settings>Add/Remove Applications" wait for the "package management" gui to populate and you will see if you chose to load the "Games"

If you choose to load any more packages you will be asked to insert the disc(s) it is located on.

Thanks
Ryptyde, I did that but when I click on update, it doesn't ask me for the CD it just says that the packages were not found??

Any ideas??
