find file in backtrack

Where can I find the shadow file in Backtrack (latest version)?

As a side note, what distro does Backtrack build on?

Is not it under /etc?
~$ ls -l /etc/shadow
BackTrack is a distribution based on the Debian GNU/Linux distribution (Refer this). For more info, check it's wiki or FAQs here.
