Question find a file that contains "xxx"

how can i use the command FIND to find files that contains "xxx"?
or other command to do this?
I am using Redhat Linux 9 .
In GUI, it's too slowly when searching a file that contains "xxx".

I think this is the command you're looking for:

Code:
# find / -name '*xxx*' -print

I try it ,but the result does not match
You can 'Touch' a file called '123.txt' that contains 'abc',then use the command you list and you will see that it does not work.

Wouldn't you just google for porn? plenty of xxx there

nyuk nyuk...

sorry I couldn't resist.

what you're looking for is grep...do 'man grep' and it'll help you.

I've never used it for a group of files so I wouldn't know offhand precisely which options you need, but the man page should tell you enough to get started.
