Unhappy Filtering a long document (rich text format) on red hat server

Hi All,

I have got a long doco 228 pages long which is a skype history and I am interested in filtering complete document to search for words called "call" or "call from" and throw the output in another document (must be rtf) is it possible to do so?

I could do easily grep and produced another rtf document, however document has some "\par" strings in it which I don't know what special character they represent?

I work on Rhel server unix box.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks All.

run "strings" against it
capture the output, filter out known tags
load text file into an office app
save as rtf
