File type

I have a directory on linux want to gzip and then uncompress on windows , what file type / extension that I should use ? thx

you can use zip.

zip -r directory

winrar will help you to extract gzip files in windows

Hi there,

From what I know, there would be a gzip version for windows. You would need to have adminstrator right on the MS machine though.
