file time stamp is wrong with ssh file transfer

when I transfer a file using SSH file transfer protocal from a local machin running Windows 2000 to a server running Linux RedHat Advanced Server 4.0, I found that the file on the server has a wrong time stamp, 8 hours ahead of correct time. However, the local time (both hardware clock and system clock) are correct.

Please help.

Felix

What time-zone are you in?

Cheers,

Tinkster thank you for your hint. However, I have checked the time zone (Asia/ShangHai). iT is correct to me.

OK ... and what tool/program are you using to transfer the
files with? Not that I know much about any of the things
that are available for windows, mind you.

Also, is hardware clock on your RedHat box set to UTC or localtime?

Thank you raskin for response.

No, UTC=false in my case. Does that cause the problem?

Sounds like that might be your 8 hours. Not sure how whatever
program you're using controls the time-stamp, though.

All times are GMT -5. The time now is 04:39 AM.
