File sharing...

I know that it has been posted before, and I've searched and searched for it, but I haven't been able to find it. I want to know how to get files that are in my windows partition and move them to my linux partition... I'm using Mandrake 9.0

Mount up your win partition. Make a mount point:
mkdir /mnt/winsucks
Then find the partition that contains your win data:
fdisk -l (/sbin/fdisk -l)
Look for fat32/vfat or something win95.

Load the vfat module:
modprobe vfat (as root)
Mount the drive:
mount -t vfat /dev/hdx /mnt/winsucks

Where /dev/hdx is the device from fdisk -l

What kind of modem is it, one of those USB ones? Good Luck See if you can do a better search on here, it's covered quite often, and sometimes even gets a valid "fix" reply

Cool
