File saving dialogue does preselect "overwrite" if filename already exist.

Hello.

The file saving dialogue in Ubuntu Studio 16.04.2 LTS (e.g. Firefox file saving) does unfortunately not ask for automatically renaming, but overwriting, and "yes" is pre-selected.

It looks as if it is deliberately designed for users to accidentally overwrite files.

How can I make it ask me to rename the file instead of overwriting? If that is not possible, is it at least possible to make "no" pre-selected?.

Firefox recently made significant changes to its interface. What version of Firefox is this?

I looked through the settings of Firefox v. 52 and v. 58 and could find no setting that seemed to refer to "always overwrite" nor did I find anything relevant here, though there were some other download-related settings. I don't have Ubuntu running right now; have you checked the Ubuntu Control Center?

i think firefox uses the native gtk file dialog to save files.
and there has recently been a change from gtk2 to gtk3.
and yes, gtk3 tends to do this sort of idiotic stuff. sorry i can't help more, but now you know where the problem originates & can search better.
