File recovery & permissions
 

My friend gave me his laptop hard drive to backup some data before he sells the laptop but i was not aware that he runs Linux.

I booted my shuttle into Linux Mint and atempted to copy the files from the HDD (plugged in via USB) to a pen drive but its saying i dont have permittion to access the files.

How can i remove the password or fix the permissions?

Just start your file-manager as root and it should work.
