File permission for /var/log/boot.log are supposed to be 600 but keep changing to 644

I am following a rhel hardening guide and it wants all log file permissions set to 600. Mine keeps resetting to 644 upon restart. Why does it reset? Is it possible to keep it at 600?

While I can't give you an answer on how to manage the rhel proper tools to modify logging i can suggest you to add a chmod line to your rc.local.
Also you are paying for the support so i suggest you to use it.
