I have a SUSE 9.1 Box Running Samba 3.04


I have a directory filed with sequentially numbered targa files - ie

COMP-SC02-R_1140.tga ---> COMP-SC02-R_1740.tga


I'll run an app to encode the targa sequence into an AVI animation file (I use Canopus Procoder on an XP workstation attached to the server)


The application on the workstation won't order the files in sequential order if I'm pointing to the Samba server targa folder. If I copy the targas to a Windows server, the software will encode them in proper seqiential order.


Any ideas ?

Can you give an example of how the ordering
goes wrong when read from the samba-share?
