File/Folder Permissions / Mounting hdd's / fstab <-- ?Questions?
What I am often troubled with is permissions. Like if I create a folder while logged into 'root' in a users' "home" directory and then that folder is locked, I know that if I right click on that folder I can change the permissions (while logged in with 'root') but I just think that all files in "home" directory should inherit the permissions from the directory above it. Also, why is it that only the root account can mount/access hdd's, can't you change it in fstab, and how??

Yes, man fstab is worth reading. the option auto allows users to mount partitions

Thanks! I'm still learning the usefulness of the man command. I will check that one out! :)
