File explorer application functionaility gone

I have a clean install of Mandrake Linux 10.0.

I installed xmms by typing this in the command prompt:

urpmi xmms

Now, most of the applications that i had installed in kde have disapeared including openoffice, the configuration program used to setup kde, all internet applications like konquerer, etc

Anyone know how I can restore these things without having to reinstall kde - this would be a knightmare as it took me ages to install a driver for my wifi card.

Even the command line program on the quick launch bar no longer works...

Any help here would be great.

I'm not sure, but try to delete the ".kde" directory in your /home/user. This will reset all kde preferences like colors, icons...blah blah. Do this from gnome or other wm or "init 3" as root and then login as user back to kde.

Hope this helped!
