Is there an app for individual file encryption, similar to Axcrypt for Windows?

Some one that I have used:

gnupg, it also has various GUI frontends:
https://www.gnupg.org/related_software/gpa/
https://wiki.gnome.org/Apps/Seahorse
https://utils.kde.org/projects/kgpg/

p7zip, compression and AES encryption, there are some Java GUI frontends for it.
