few questions about apache..

I was tryin to change my domain name over to my web server. I use a school internet connection. so it is dynamic but i was going to see if the page would come up. I use newtwork solutions for my domain name. I went in the log in screen to change the direction and it asked me for 2 ip address..why do it ask me for 2? also when i put in the ip of the connection im using it said restricted..did it do this cause the school makes it restricted?..and it is a lan.

Well I'm not quite sure about the whole 2 ip addresses thing. Maybe network solutions gives you the option of resolving your domain name to two different IP addresses.

As for giving a restricted IP address I bet you are trying to put in a private IP. What was the IP address that you entered? Because you are on a lan your IP address is hidden from the everybody who is NOT on the lan so having network solutions resolve your domain to that IP address won't work. Your domain name must point to a PUBLIC IP address. Your probably on something like 192.x.x.x

If I am understanding this correctly I think this is pretty much near impossible considering that you would have to get your school to forward all http requests they get to your private IP. Hey but what the hell asks them.
