Unhappy few characters like 'i' not printing


i am abosultely new to linux and i recently installed FC2. intially i could type in all the letters in terminal or vi. but for the last two daya i observed that some letters like 'i' are not at all printing when i press them. when i typr 'dir' it would print 'dr' and and on hiting enter the error comes

what shalli do???/

re-plug your keyboard, or see about cleaning it

i tried but no help

i tried what u said i jsut repulgued it but that doesnot work

the letters 'i' and 'p' are not printed in terminal and vi but when the login comes there iam able to enter both the letters and more over if i press 'i' twice the mozilla browser is popping up
