Fedora8 mini pci wireless cards

Can any one tell me what make and model wireless pci cards work out of the box that Fedora8 has built in drivers and firmware. I finally got my BCM4306 running it sees the network but will not connect. When I put a airlink usb wireless it is on and works perfectly. So I believe the problem is with the Broadcom card.

Thank you
Craig

Most Atheros cards, except the most recent AR5007EG should work out of the box. Intel cards are also a relatively safe bet.

The above mentioned Atheros cards work, but you will need the livna repository for the driver (madwifi).

Intel cards 2100, 2200, 2945, and the 3945 work with a default install of fedora. Fedora has included the firmware and the driver is in the kernel. Fedora uses the opensource driver for the 3945, which for me, works better than the closed source ipw3945. However, others have reported the ipw3945 working better. The ipw3945 is available from atrpms.

I'm sure there are many other older cards that work. Look through the lists at tuxmobile, or perhaps someone else may chime in with a card that works.
