Fedora Software RAID 1

If I am installing a clean copy of Fedora 13 and using software RAID 1 during the installation, if necessary in the future could I just move one of the disks to a new linux system and directly read off of it? Not necessarily to boot from it but at least be able to recover data from it? I will have backups as well but just wondering if it will be directly accessible in a different system.

Greetingz!

Theoretically, yes. However, you'll have to do this while the system is powered-off, and once you boot-up one of the disks, you shouldn't consider putting back the other one, as data loss, data corruption, or just plain failure to boot will be big problems.
Good Luck!
