Personal Desktop Server Custom Workstation can you please help? Thanks in advance Sky-> |
If I were you I would choose Personal Desktop. That should install the Xserver and KDE or Gnome which are desktop software.

Yes, Personal Desktop, (did you read the description next to it =P. ) Anyways, yes, it will be a user-friendly, with nice gui's (graphical user interfaces, desktop etc.) Most likely, Gnome Desktop Manager will be installed (or the gdm).

I'd go custom, means you can pick all the stuff it installs, there a number of reasons i pick this option
* you only get what you want, and remove quite a lot of bloat * quicker install time * it's a great way to learn about the various major packages available, they all have helpful descriptions telling you what t hey do. |
Or choose custon and select Install Everything (which is about 6 or 7gb of stuff... what I installed if you have a big hdd which you want to fill up! =P)

Hi,
I Think custom is a better option. You can choose wat ever u want to install. Or u can install everything by selecting the install everything option. |
saipraveen, sorry but those options were already discussed in the previous posts.

Not against LQ Rules but repetitiveness is a nuisance. And why would you want to repeat what someone else has already posted UNLESS you add some other useful help. ajagwe , it's not the matter in discussion here. You can post that is related to this problem on this thread. And to answer your question, you can try different apps that you can compile as virtual monitors that can make your resolution seem what you want. --Abid Kazmi |
