Fedora perfect setup server and MySql

This is in the how to by Falko at

If I do both of the following commands I run into problems and get locked out of mysql.

Should I be only doing the first one to set a pwd for the root.

mysqladmin -u root password yourrootsqlpassword
mysqladmin -h -u root password yourrootsqlpassword

you actually need the single quotes (I think?). For example,

mysqladmin -u root password '1337password'
Then once you do that, you can test

mysql -u root -p
