Fedora Linux core 1 and P2P

firstly i have installed fedora core 1 and i want a P2P file sharing programme that will install itself with out any hassle. i have tried apollo and it says i dont have 2 files that are missing and it wont go ahead with installation.

Secondly i wanted a screen saver and i went to configure it and it says this "The XScreenSaver daemon doesn't seem to be running on display ":0.0". Launch it now?" when i do launch it my screen starts to fliker and says it wasnt configured probably or sumthing and then it flashes and then ends up in TEXT login mode.

i logged in to text mode and type "startx" and it said an error. my most anoying problem is that my computer logs out into text mode after 45 mins or so i dunno why it does this.

if you need further information please ask. i just had laser eye surgery and typing is difficult and annoying at this point of time.

Is this a laptop or a desktop? I am thinking it might be a video chip or video ram problem. Especially if your xscreensaver is running any kind of 3d graphics. Who is the card made by?

As coolinuxguy246 suggested, limewire is a great, ease to install, Java-based P2P program and I second that . You need to have JRE(Java Runtime Environment) up and running. Here is a good thread to help you installing both LimeWire and JRE:

Another good one is xMule (emule version for Linux). Get it here:

and try to avoid the latest versions of xmule always. 1.4.x seems to be a hell lot more stable than the newer ones.. I wonder what those guys are up to .

About your graphics card, you will need an official driver in order to make it to run 3D applications. Get from nvidia homepage:

There're a couple of threads in this forum regarding installation of nvidia drivers, make a quick search to find info about that as well as reading nvidia docs. It's pretty easy to install once you know how to do it . Any problem, let us know...

Good luck!
