Question Fedora Error Message

Hi, I'm trying to get into Linux. I don't want to use CDs so I'm trying to install Fedora by using either FTP or HTTP. Now after it boots up, I type in the server and directory info, it tells me an error "unable to retrieve image" or something like that. I tried everything that was suggested in forums like turning my firewall off, using the ip address instead, even mirrors closer to me and still nothing. Can anyone help me out with this? Thanks.
