Fedora disappeared from boot menu

i'll try to explain what happened with me as much as i can:
few weeks ago i installed fedora on my pc,( with windows ) so i always had the choice when my pc starts to choose between fedora and windows.
But few days ago i formatted my pc ( windows) and after finishing, i was not able to see the fedora option while booting. as if i only have windows OS on my pc. my hard disk is partitioned in 3 drives, c,d,f ... i installed fedora on drive f. now when i check my hard disk i still can't see the drive f, bcoz fedora is still installed ! so my question is: how can log in to fedora again ? am i supposed to install again ? or what ?
thank u

It sounds like you may have removed fedora but did not format the partition file system. You did not say which version of windows you have but it XP, 2000 or Vista you need to reformat the partition to ntfs file system. Yes you should be able to install fedora again but make sure and check out your disk lay out. If fedora has a repair option it should select the original partitions and install again.

:cry:You're right..fedora is still there ! it happens to me too if i re-install win xp entirely or win xp loader from the recovery console but not if i recover a win xp Norton ghost image..fedora is still there but you can't access it 'cos grub was put into rubbish..and,despite what said aus9 here

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...hreadid=237511

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...postid=1413211

and what is said somewhere googling,i could never recover a fedora-grub following his good suggestions while, still following his good suggestions,i could recover many other distros-grub without problems..google many other aus9 posts and my posts,he has many times spoken about grub boot problems..anyway,in fedora every time i loose grub i do one of this:

:D 1)Re-install fedora from a Partimage image-this is the best and easiest way !

0r

 2)Fully reimstall fedora from zero-this is the most boring and longest way !

Do you have a Fedora-Partimage image ?

Good luck 1

This is ambiguous. Do you mean that you re-installed Windows? What exactly did you do?

For example, if you install (re-install) Windows after setting up a dual-boot, you will lose the Linux bootloader (GRUB in most cases). You can simply re-install GRUB by booting from the Fedora Live-CD.

I took the liberty to rename the thread. Help!! is a particularly bad
choice, tells people nothing about the problem, and realistically everyone
who posts here needs help of some sort.

Cheers,
Tink
