Fedora Core 5 question
i am attempting to use Fedora Core 5 from this mirror--ftp://ftp.net.usf.edu/pub/fedora/linux/core/5/i386//iso/
At any rate, regardless of what mirror I use, I end up with the same result-- a failed install. The screen that comes up is Checking filesystems … fsck.ext3: Permission denied while trying to open /dev/cciss!c0d0p5 You must have r/w access to the filesystem or be root ***An error occurred during the file system check ***Dropping you to a shell; the system will reboot ***Warning -- SELinux is active *** Disabling security enforcement for system recovery ***Run 'setenforce 1' to reenable. Give root password for maintenance (or type Control-D to continue) I have tried different mirrors for downloads with the same end result; however, if I download core 4 image & install, the server works. The hardware is a HP Dl360 G4P server, which probably plays no part in this, however I just thought I would throw that out there. If this is a simple well-known fix, please excuse my ignorance as I do Windows Administration, and from time to time do Linux. Thanks in advance P |
Does /dev/cciss!c0d0p5 exist on your machine?
If it does you might check your /etc/fstab for /dev/cciss!c0d0p5 and change the the flags at the end of the line to 0 0 and then you'll need to reboot. |
It is not listed in there....I was wondering if anyone out there had any issues loading FC5 on a G4 DL360 or am I the only one?
