Fedora Core 1 Boot Problem~!
 
I have installed Fedora Core 1 and i have choosed GRUB boot manager...but when the install finished and i reboot the mashine i dont have boot manager and i cant boot the fedora..i have make an Boot Dieskette and i can boot from it...but i dont wanna to boot everytime from the diskette...It Says (You Dont Have Any Active Partitions To Boot From...) something like that...can someone to tell me how to fix that...and to boot without diskette!? 10x...:Pengy: :scratch: :cry:

Did you try install the grub boot loader again using the RedHat config windows?

Did you make partitions before you installed?

If so did you make a primary partition or just a bunch of logical drives in extended. Basically if you made just logicals thats why it wont boot. If your lucky, there may be a really small amount of space at the start of the drive (usually 2 or 3mb), that you could make a primary partition on. Then simply boot up a rescuecd/boot floppy and alter /etc/fstab to reflect the new change to mount locations.

Alternatively you could use partition magic to convert your / (or /boot if you seperated them out) partition to primary, but you'll still need to change fstab to reflect the geometry change.

What does your /boot/grub/grub.conf look like?

If you can boot off the floppy, do so and open system settings -> bootloader and see if your brub configuration utility opens up...

This isn't a fix, but I'd like to see if your grub ever even got configured...
